mosq in Tehran

There are many mosques in Tehran, this is the impression that I got while being there. The first one that I visited was Emam Zadeh Sale. It was quite big and very beautiful inside, much more than the outside. The people from inside and outside were friendly and did not make any comment on my being there so I felt quite at ease and peaceful there. I was not allowed to take pictures so unfortunately I don't have any to share. The floor was jad green stone and wall and ceiling ornate with mirror work and blue glass writing. I will share though some pictures from other mosques.

Detail from interior of a small mosque which I visited, there were no signs "No photo" and the man from the mosque kitchen did not have any objection on my taking pictures. He was very friendly and nice, offered us some tea and made some conversation about my country of origin. In each mosque there is a segregation about where men pray and where women pray. In this particular mosque I was disappointed to see the woman side had no decorations.

Mosque surrounding a square close to Tehran bazaar. In the middle of the square was a water fountain surrounded by vases of plants.

Detail from door from the same mosque.
