wall decoration

Here at A&J, wallpaper is one of our passions and we’re thrilled that in the last 5 years the product has made a massive comeback on the design scene. Now available in an abundance of patterns and styles, wallpaper is a simple way to make a major impact in any space.
Recently we jumped at the opportunity to attend a press tour of Chambord Prints, the factory that manufactures wallpaper for one of our favorite showrooms, Pierre Frey. It was a fascinating tour and we learned a ton….the amount of craftsmanship and handwork that goes into just a single roll is absolutely incredible.
Located right outside the city in Hoboken, NJ, the massive loft building houses rows of screen printing tables that stretch 180 feet long, roughly the length of 5 rolls of wallpaper. Using the same technique that has been in practice for years, each panel of paper is hand screened color by color until the pattern is complete. Even the designs are hand-drawn, many of which are lifted directly directly from Pierre Frey fabrics, and the ink is mixed by the eye of a single color expert.
Knowing the level of detail and dedication behind this art makes us even more enthusiastic about wallpaper and we’re excited to share our knowledge of it with you and our clients.
